We are so fortunate to get a chance to sit down and have a coffee with these amazing people.  Whether a musician or a founder, the journeys are so similar, yet so different.  In every case though, perseverance, boosters and commitment are clearly ingredients that drive success.

Teachers Can Be Founders Too with Tim Moher, Bestival Founder

Dreams don’t just happen, they evolve.  Tim had no idea where his music would take him, or if it would take him.  Many musicians end up teaching, which is what Tim Moher did with the local school board, but it was a chance opportunity that saw him build a powerful voluntary music program that ultimately served over a thousand kids.  The program he established and the stars that came out of it are testimony to the strength of community and fuel that it produces.  After retiring from education, Tim wasn’t done.  He went on to found Bestival using the same core ideologies that made him successful in the past.  This is truly a lesson in making innovative things happen in very old organizations.

DANA SHORTT

See what it took to go from being a young startup to an iconic local brand.  Dana Shortt took her home cooking service from her Mom's kitchen through a life committed to family, service, dedication and passion.  With somewhat calculated risks, a 'go for it' attitude and a community of boosters, Dana shows what it takes to build a very successful business while being a devoted Mother.
